EGS offers a Raw Grading service for the discerning enthusiast looking for an inexpensive, fast, and reliable third-party assessment of their book. If you want to be able to access your book and forego encapsulation after grading, this service is right for you.
Any book evaluated using the Raw Grading service is graded and placed in a mylar bag with a backing board. The grade is displayed on our EGS Raw Grade sticker and adhered to the back of the mylar bag. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity for the book.
The Raw Grading Service does not include any restoration detection, grading notes, encapsulation, or tamper-proofing. This service is exclusively an evaluation of the apparent condition of any book at the time of grading.

We certified grade of your book and securely seal it in our case along with a fully-descriptive label. Each book comes with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity which includes grader’s notes – at no additional cost! The “Choice” is our Tier I certification service, and takes 20 – 40 business days* to be returned to you – one of the fastest standard turn around times in the business!

“Modern” books are defined as those published in the year 1975 or later. “Vintage” books are defined as those published before the year 1975.
‡ Orders that are submitted for Expert Certified Choice and/or Expert Certified Signature service at special events or conventions may incur additional processing time, up to an additional 14 business days. Orders submitted for Premier, Ultimate, or Same Day service incur no additional processing time and will be fulfilled within their respective time-frames stated here.
* Standard turn-around time is an estimate. Estimate is based on the moment orders are received in house with paid invoice to the moment that orders are shipped back to the customer. EGS is not responsible for carrier-related delays during shipping.
